Though worry often sneaks in when we forget God’s faithfulness, Jesus reminds us to rest in the present and trust that the same Father who cares for the lilies and the birds will surely care for us too.
We know it’s worry. We know that by worrying or letting our anxiety get out of hand, we are borrowing trouble from tomorrow that might not even exist. So why do we create such elaborate situations in our minds to worry about instead of just trusting that our Father (the Creator of the Universe) does indeed know what he is doing?
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. - Matthew 6:34
God’s word tells us not to worry. He tells us to handle today alone because tomorrow will bring enough of it’s own trouble and today already has enough. Why do have to add to it?
I don’t have an answer for you.I know that my worry is a lack of trust. I worry when I loose sight of the fact that my Father has indeed brought me through every single moment that has led to this one. My Father has provided when I haven’t know how things were going to work out. My Father has provided when I didn’t even know I needed something. Even still, I find myself in moments where I doubt that he can take care of the simplest of things.
25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one[j]cubit to his[k]stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not[l]arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

He clothes the lilies
Have you ever sat and watched the flowers blow in the wind or the birds soar through the air? Really watched them? I have and I repent every time for questioning my Father’s ability to take care of me.
My sister, I don’t know what worries and anxieties plague your life. I do know that if you will sit at the feet of my Father and confess these things to him, he is there. He will gather you into his arms and remind you (as many times as you need) that he is in control and he has this. Rest in those moments.
